From the Garden to the Kitchen
Hi I'm Cathi and welcome to my web site;

I'm no chef and I'm no market gardener, in fact I'm an IT specialist, but
when I'm not
in front of a computer or cruising in my
'69 camaro I can be
found lost in the
kitchen or in the garden for hours.
I don't have a lot of free time like most people, and I don't have a large garden but I
do
have an unquenchable interest in
growing vegetables to feed family and
friends.
There is nothing more rewarding, than seeing the first sign of a seedling rise
above the soil, and to eventually pick your fresh produce to
take to the kitchen and deliver something fabulous that people
love to eat.
I find gardening fascinating and you just never stop learning, and if the
weather's crappy as it is today, I'm just
as happy with my head buried in a
gardening book, trying to learn as much as I can.
I also don't have a large "flash" kitchen but my love of gardening has
fuelled a passion for cooking, as I was bought up in
the days when nothing
went to waste, so I'm always looking for new fresh, inventive, quick and
easy ways to produce
fabulous dishes from what I have taken from the garden
that the kids, family and friends will eat,
and again I am just as
happy with my head buried in a cook book.
So I freely admit I'm no expert, but I have gardened and cooked since a
youngster. I find that gardening and cooking is
becoming a dying
art amongst our young, and yet it can bring you so much pleasure with very
little effort when pointed
in the right direction. There are so many tips and tricks that I
have learnt over time and I want to pass these on like my
grandparents.
great grandparents, uncles and aunties did for me. So
the purpose of this web site is to share with others
what I have learnt,
what I'm up to and hopefully inspire some of you to get into the garden and
enjoy the rewards, and/or
to fire up your stoves and make some delicious dishes for
your family and friends, and of course have fun along the way.
